Vivian Marcell McMurray was born on April 19, 1939 in Houston, Texas. She was the third child of six children born to the late Harold Spears and Mary Sue McFadden Spears. Vivian attended Jackie Yates High School and University of Texas Southern. After attending college, she relocated to Los Angeles, California to join extended family. Vivian married and established roots in the San Fernando Valley. Vivian's home was her children's friends second home.After sending her kids off to college, Vivian started her second career at Target, where she and her co-workers enjoyed many warm friendships and weekend escapades.
Vivian loved traveling with her mother-in-law and family to Las Vegas and especially ocean cruises, which is evident in the many collectibles from those adventures includung her dolls and spoons from all over the world.
She was happy, friendly, and she loved to smile. She was an avid reader. She leaves her husband, Frank McMurray, Jr. and four children, Darren, Steven, Susan and Gregory and her siblings Harold Spears Jr., Doris Edmunds and Harold Dean James, Her first son, Chaucer preceded her in death.
