Val Angeles

Val Corcuera Angeles joined his Creator on December 14, 2020 after an undisclosed illness. He was 54.
Born on February 4, 1966 in Quezon City, Philippines, Val immigrated to the United States in 1993 to join his family where they settled in the San Fernando Valley area,
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine graduate of the Gregorio Araneta University (De La Salle Araneta University) in March of 1988, Val had a deep fondness for animals of all shapes and sizes, and had dreamed of buying a ranch to care for horses and other pets.
He worked for the Animal Control Department in Los Angeles County for 24 years, most recently as Senior Clerk Officer. At one point, Angeles was the highest-ranking Filipino American within the Department, an achievement he was proud of but which he rarely talked about with people he knew.
According to his family, Val was a very joyous, friendly, kind, happy and generous person who loved his family and doted on his nephews and nieces. He extended help to his many, many friends and lived his life to the fullest. An avid traveler, Val enjoyed going on trips to countries like the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Iceland, Croatia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, the Czech Republic and more.
Val had many friends around the world. He was an active member of the Rodeo Veterinary Club of the Philippines, and attended reunions and gatherings with club members frequently. His friendly and outgoing personality even gained him more friends as he reconnected with old acquaintances and met new people through his work, travels and social circles.
Val is survived by siblings Jessie & Evelyn Angeles and children Jaycee, Jason Ray, Jesselyn and Jasmine Mae; Emily Angeles and children Joshua and John Aaron; Elizabeth Angeles; Rommel & Editha (Angeles) Escobar; and nephews and niece Jazz & Nicole, Nina Cello & Peavey Nicolas; and grand-nephews Keoni and Ninja Nicolas.
The family deeply appreciates all your comfort and prayers during this time of grief and sorrow over their loss.
