Nancy Norling Rowe died on March 18, 2022 at the age of 87, surrounded by her three daughters. Since 2004 Nancy lived in the Thousand Oaks area, in Southern California, after moving from her long-time home in Lafayette and Walnut Creek, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Nancy was a home economics teacher at Stanley Intermediate in the Lafayette School district for over 25 years and was always able to connect with her students, especially taking under her wing those who needed extra support. She always rooted for the underdog and was able to find humor and beauty in the every day.
Nancy had a way of making friends wherever she traveled and was well-loved by all who knew her. An avid reader, Nancy read the newspaper daily, cover to cover, and had a love of learning throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and loved being included in family fun. She was a gifted quilter, knitter and loved making gifts for family and various charities. She faithfully attended New Hope Lutheran Church in Agoura Hills and was the daughter and granddaughter of Lutheran pastors. She is survived by her three daughters, Alison Rowe, Ann Rowe Church and Linda Rowe Clark, their husbands, five grandchildren and her sister, Marge Norling Okuley. The family will remember her passing privately at a later date.
