Dr. Michael Mohamad Malekniazi was born on October 3, 1965 in Tehran, Iran, to Dr. Jahangir Malekniazi and Parvin Rahimi. He was heir to Malekniazi Khan of Kerend, the firstborn grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Gholam Reza Rahimi, and the eldest of 3 siblings. From his birth, Mamal was the backbone of his family; his most proud moment was being an older brother and welcoming to the world his younger brother, Ali, and little sister, Mariam. Mamal was true of heart and always sought adventure, courageously moving to Pullman, WA at the age of 19 to attend Washington State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine. Mamal was a citizen of the world and his light transcended all religions, cultures and backgrounds; he spoke 4 languages and lived in the Caribbean, Venezuela, Belgium, and Iran. It was in Los Angeles that he made a life and home, most recently as an Instructor at the College of Nursing & Allied Health. Family meant everything to Mamal, and there was no limit to the love he felt for his parents, siblings, and most of all, his nieces, Jasmine, Yassin, and Alin. Above all else, Mamal cherished spending time with his family, making others laugh and leading the way for others to follow. His charm and contagious laughter touched more lives than can be counted and anyone who knew him, could share their own story of how their world was changed by Mamal.
