Michael Estes

Michael Patrick Estes was born to Lucille Light and Patrick Estes, and was the youngest of three sons. As a young kid, Mike was fun loving and as he grew older his zest for life was evident. He held his job at the US Postal Office for more than 30 years. Through his dedication, wise financial stewardship and resourcefulness, he was able to acquire a home long before he finally settled down.
Mike loved the outdoors and had enjoyed long road trips across the country, explored the beauty and enchanting ambience of nature. Michael’s love of the ocean led him to become a certified scuba diver. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing and fulfilled his dream of owning his own fishing boat. Michael was also a licensed pilot and flew airplanes on occasion. He was known for his humor and would joke and play around with everyone.
Michael married Donna and became a father to his daughter Brianna. He knew how to treat the women in his life. He was an ideal husband, wonderful provider, took pride in pampering his girls and even cooked a variety of different meals. He was a sweetest dad to Brianna. Though very strict, he loved having fun with her by wrestling or watching movies together. Mike’s circle of friends calls him “Snake”, were his Mom, siblings and nephews and nieces. He always look forward to seeing and spending time by playing cards, which is “Crazy 8’s” and computer game called “Worms”.
At the age of 56 Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and at 57 the diagnosis changed to Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). A very rare neurological degenerative disease. After a year, another similar disease was diagnosed in addition to MSA, called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). While he battled with multiple rare diseases for 5 years, he never gave up his fight, instead he confronted his fate with optimism.
Michael was predeceased by his father. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Donna, daughter Brianna, his mother, brothers Steve Lee and Dan Estes, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
