Marie Miner

Marie Miner, age 93, of Canoga Park, CA, passed away at home on January 10, 2019. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, CA.
Marie was born in June, 1925 in Provo, UT. She grew up in Provo and graduated from Brigham Young University where she met her future husband, Ernest “Monty” Miner. They were married on June 28, 1947, in Provo, UT. They were happily married for almost 70 years. They settled in Canoga Park, CA where they have lived since 1958.
Marie truly loved her family and encouraged her children in school and various activities. She enjoyed yearly family vacations and regular gypsy jaunts around the local area with her husband and children. She supported her husband in various community organizations including Rotary and they were both avid square dancers. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, hand stitching, reading, family table games, and word puzzles.
Marie is survived by her 5 children, 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and her younger brother. She will be remembered for the love, support, kindness, generosity, and gentleness she had for her family, friends and neighbors. She made the world a better place for those she knew and loved.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 3 brothers and 2 great grandchildren.
