Lucas Rufael, beloved son of Kinfe and Zufan, and loving brother to Ammanuel and Eden, lived a life filled with love and joy. Born on May 12, 2000 in Los Angeles, California, Lucas was a happy baby and brought so much joy to his family. Lucas's language of kindness and warmth spoke volumes to all who knew him. With a heart as vast as the ocean, Lucas embraced life with a spirit of creativity and wonder. His passion for swimming, solving puzzles, matching colors and doing other tasks on his iPad, and meticulously organizing his surroundings at home, reflected his innate curiosity and appreciation for the beauty of simplicity.
Lucas loved going to school at Leichman Career Preparatory and Transition Center where he acquired many skills that helped him smoothly transition into adulthood. During his years at Leichman, Lucas really blossomed and formed meaningful relationships with staff and students alike. For fun, Lucas loved to wrestle with his Dad and brother, and go for long walks with family members. His participation with his peers in "Saints Among Us" at St. Mel Church was something he really enjoyed and brought him closer to his faith.
Lucas's infectious laughter and radiant smile illuminated every room he entered leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Through his gentle presence, he taught us that love knows no bounds and that joy can be found in the smallest of moments. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever reside in the hearts of all those he touched. We find peace in knowing that Lucas has now entered the gates of heaven. May his soul May his soul rest peacefully.
