Leticia Ulgasan Wee, affectionately known as Letty, was born on October 23, 1939, in the Philippines. With a life dedicated to education and care, she passed away on December 12, 2024, at Northridge Hospital in California, leaving a rich legacy to those who knew and loved her.
Letty devoted her career to serving others, working as an elementary school teacher where she garnered recognition for her commitment to education and the well-being of her students. Her passion extended beyond the classroom; she also made significant contributions in patient care, advocating tirelessly for the special needs of the elderly. An ardent plant and orchid enthusiast, Letty's reputation blossomed as she cultivated a lovely botanical garden, showcasing her green thumb and love for nurturing life.
Beyond her professional achievements, Letty was a remarkable cook, celebrated for her culinary skills, particularly her famous chiffon cake. Her warmth and generosity made her not only an amazing mother and friend but also the heart of her family. Letty personified thoughtfulness, always putting others before herself, providing shelter and education to extended family members, ensuring they had the resources they needed to thrive.
Letty earned her PhD in Education, illustrating her dedication to lifelong learning and personal growth. She was a loving and thoughtful soul, deeply committed to her family and friends, and instilled in them the values of kindness and generosity. When she was not teaching or caring for others, she found joy in baking, cooking, and crocheting. A beloved pastime was playing Candy Crush, showcasing her playful spirit.
She is survived by her children: Marissa, Joniffer, Eriberto Jr., Tara Ann, Daughters-in-law Zaide & Rima, Sons-in-law Danilo, Steve and Andres, along with many grandchildren, including Kyle C., Lloyd, Clarizze, Clark, Elle, Leonard, and Bernard Wee. Letty also leaves behind her brother Noe and sister Evangeline, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives around the world, all of whom were blessed to have her grace their lives.
Letty was preceded in death by her husband, Eriberto Wee Sr., her father Salvador, her mother Adoracion, and her children Lester, Clarence, and Jess. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Romualdo, Ricardo, and Dorothy, and Rodolfo.
Leticia Ulgasan Wee will be deeply missed, but her spirit, dedication to family, and the love she spread throughout her community will forever remain a cherished memory in the hearts of her loved ones.
