Lesley Moloney

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Lesley Ann Moloney departed this world on 2 May 2018, aged 82, in West Hills Hospital, West Hills, California, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Lesley Ann was born on 12 February 1936, in Ash Vale, Aldershot, England, the first of two children. After moving to Hamble, England, she grew up during the war era with her sister and family. At the age of 20, Lesley Ann met her beloved husband, Patrick Joseph Moloney and they married on the 5 April 1958. Lesley Ann and Patrick spent most of their years, which were rich and varied in many different walks of life, travelling to numerous places allowed them to enjoy and experience their 50 years of marriage together. As time progressed, Lesley Ann dedicated most of her retirement to caring for her aging mother until her passing in 1993. Shortly after, Patrick became ill and Lesley Ann devoted herself to spending their final memories together, loving and caring for her ailing husband. Following his passing in 2009, Lesley Ann travelled multiple times to the USA to spend time with her daughter and family and in 2015, decided to make a permanent move to California where she settled down to enjoy her final chapter in life. Adjusting to her new home, Lesley Ann spent most of her time in her garden appreciating the delightful weather and active wildlife. From 2018 onwards, Lesley Ann became increasingly ill, with her health slowly declining in her last few months of life. Being the strong independent and self-sufficient woman she was, Lesley Ann tried her hardest to do what she could for herself to the best of her ability. As she weakened, her daughter Maria committed herself to her mother’s care, and she was at her bedside when she took her final breath in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Lesley Ann is preceded in death by her parents Bert and Louise Blundell, her husband Patrick and younger sister Monica. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Maria and Amir Mirzadeh and her granddaughter Kezia.
