Leattrice Costes

Leattrice “Gloria” Costes was born in Bisbee , Arizona on September 8, 1928 to parents Grace and Earl Miller. At age 3 the family moved to Hollywood, California to be close to extended family and enjoy more opportunities and better climate.
Gloria attended Los Feliz Elementary, Thomas Starr King middle school and John Marshall High School. She was surrounded by doting parents, grandparents & lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gloria loved to dance and so it was to be in 1945 she went to a dance at the Hollywood Palladium where a handsome young man was there on leave from the Army. As luck would have it Bob Costes introduced himself and asked if she would like to dance. Bob also liked to dance. Well, the rest is as the say history. They danced their way up the altar in August 1946. Union that lasted 73 wonderful years. Daughter Cathy Eisman (Bob) was born two years later followed by a son Craig.
They moved to North Hollywood where they built their first home and spent many years there, later living in Encino, Westlake Village and West Hills. Gloria spent many years as a homemaker and also worked Teaching Technology, Bank of America and Taylor Rental for many years. She volunteered at her kid’s schools, PTA, brownies and Starlighters which served & supported mentally challenged young children.
Gloria and Bob had the opportunity to travel throughout most of the United States, Canada and Europe. They especially enjoyed cruising Alaska, the Caribbean, Mexico and the Panama Canal.
Bob preceded Gloria in death in 2019. She is survived by daughter Cathy (Bob), son Craig, grandsons Bryan, and Geoff (Tina), five great grandchildren, Jake, Amanda, Sophia, Samantha & Blake & Sister-in-Law Claudette Costes and many friends.
