James Neal Oberto, age 60, of Northridge, passed away on Thursday, November 25, surrounded by his best friend Jay Skowronski.
James was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who dedicated many years of his life to helping others, fighting for his country, and in service to his faith as a Christian.
As a Third Battalion First Marine Dragon Anti Armor Assault Gunner, James deployed to the Western Pacific in 1987, where he earned a Meritorious Unit Commendation, in which he proudly served with honor, in The United States Marine Corps.
James was born on August 9, 1961 to William and Alice Oberto in Los Angeles, California. He is survived by his sister, brother, nephew, and niece, Katherine Ann Oberto, Christopher Paul Oberto, Richard Joseph Oberto, and Nicole Christine Alvarado.
