Today we celebrate the life of Heather Marie Galvin. After a long battle with lupus, she passed away on July 25th, 2017. Her will and spirit prevailed for 53 years; her positivity and courage in the face of adversity was a testament to her character.
Heather was born and raised in Southern California, and grew up in the Los Angeles area. After graduating from Granada High School she continued her education at California State University of Northridge. She received her degree in child development in 1987.
Her faith sustained her and her devotion was known to many. She found comfort in the Lord. She is survived by her two children, Brendan and Kalene, as well as many other family members. Her parents, Ray and Jean Nelson, cared for her with an unparalleled generosity and kindness in her final years. Her brother, Jeff Nelson, was a pillar in her life and community. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched with her unending compassion and tenacious disposition.
