Our beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather, Darryl Robert Davis, passed away quietly on February 6, 2018.
Darryl was born on July 29th, 1932 in Rembrandt, Iowa, the fourth of twelve children born to Roy and Laura Davis. Darryl married Sylvia Jacobson on March 14, 1959. They settled in West Hills, CA and had a wonderful, fun-filled life together for almost 59 years.
Darryl was a veteran who served in the Army, then dedicated 32 years of his life to Walt Disney Studios as a Cinetechnician working on Circlevision, 3D cameras, animation cranes and so much more.
Darryl loved to be busy whether it be gardening, tinkering in the garage, driving his motorhome, traveling, fishing or spending time with family and friends. He had a knack for fixing things and his garage door was always open to chat with anyone walking by or to lend a helping hand. He was always optimistic, fun-loving and made friends everywhere he went. Darryl will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Darryl is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Kenneth, Marvin, Joe, Gordon and Howard. He is survived by his wife Sylvia; two daughters and son-in-laws Debbie/Ron and Darlene/Jim; five grandsons, Evan, Tristan, Alec, Alex and Bryce; brothers and sisters, Dick (Murt), Jim (Sunny), Mitzie (Don), Tom (Janet), Gloria (Bill) and Susie (Tim); sister-in-laws Betty and Janis; brother-in-law Ron (Sue) and many nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Darryl’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 24th at 2 pm at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 23838 Kittridge Street in West Hills with a reception immediately following in Founders Hall.
