Charlotte Marie McGlone, 83, of Northridge, CA passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18th at home with family members by her side having bravely fought alzheimers disease for several years. Charlotte was born to the late Mary and John Neggen on July 10, 1935, in Glendale, CA. She graduated from Canoga Park High School in 1953, earned an AA degree from Pierce Junior College in 1955, then went to work for the church school and later The Marquardt Aircraft Company where she met the love of her life, Richard McGlone. They wed in 1958 and spent the last 61 years happily married.
Char was a homemaker and mother, raising four children while volunteering with many community organizations including church, the Girl Scouts, local schools, sporting organizations, and Northridge Hospital. Char loved time spent camping with friends and family, gardening, cooking and entertaining, and traveling with her husband and friends; their final overseas trip was to Israel in 2013.
In 1978, Char went to work for the Los Angeles Dodgers and thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Dodger family for the next 16 years, until retirement in 1994.
Her faith was central to her life, and after retiring was a primary focus. She was an active participant in the Prime Time senior ministry and as a volunteer for youth prison ministry.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard McGlone, her four children, Michael McGlone (Gina), Carole Waller (Bill), Susan Young, Nancy Esmay (Joel), 12 grandchildren, Caitlin Yarbrough (Daniel), Alison McGlone, Gregory Kuhn (Sandra), Molly Pollet (Austin), Alyssa Kuhn (Hudson Overcash), Brett Young, Tommy McGlone, Tara Young, Stephen Esmay, Drew Esmay, Daniel Esmay and Jennifer Esmay, 2 great-grandsons, Price Yarbrough and Henry Pollet, her sister Martha Pfleger (Bob), and her sister-in-law Marion McGlone. She was predeceased by her twin brother Christian Neggen, her sister Constance Neggen, and brothers-in-law David and Robert McGlone.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11am at Lifehouse Church located at 18355 Roscoe Blvd. in Northridge, followed by internment at Oakwood .Memorial Park and Cemetery.
