Berile Bennett Stander (1925-2016), husband of Connie (1926-2005), father of Sharon and Randy, grandfather of Sam and Jake, brother of Esther Neale, and father-in-law of Nora Goldsmith and Dean Schermerhorn, passed away at age 91 at home with his family Sunday, May 15, at 2:40 p.m.
Berile, the youngest of the six children of Bertha and Julius Stander, of Opelousas, LA, had been living with Esther for the past eight years.
A retired chemist, inventor and entrepreneur, Berile had lived in the Los Angeles area since 1948. He had many friends. People loved to spend time with Berile because of his generosity, intelligence, charm, and sense of humor. He was a loving father and a compassionate caregiver. He made all of our lives richer. Berile will be deeply missed.
There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, do something for somebody you love. It’s what Berile would have done.
