On February 24th, 2019 Beatrice Hamlin, aged 84, left this world to rejoin the love of her life in eternal peace. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 28th 1934 to Alice and Khorsof Tarzian and later adopted by Peter Mordigan upon Khorsof’s passing. Bea was the eldest of her siblings Dora Vee, Patricia, and Peter. The Mordigan family moved to the San Fernando Valley when Bea was a toddler. She spent the rest of her life there, graduating from San Fernando High School in 1953 and marrying Neil Hamlin in 1955. With him, Bea raised two amazing children, Greg Hamlin (Dana) and Patty Hadnett (Art), and spoiled four incredibly lucky grandchildren, Eli, Megan, Courtney, and Cody. She earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Floriculture from Pierce College in 1955 and parlayed it into an impressive career as a florist. She designed flowers for the rich and famous, worked on the 1984 Olympics, and prepared floats for the Rose Parade. She held offices in Business and Professional Women and Supported Sylmar Independent Baseball League. She was an active member on her High School Reunion Committee and enjoyed her weekly TOPS meetings. Her home was always beautifully decorated and smelled of delicious food from grape leaves to chicken fried steak. She loved angels, bells, and Justin Turner. For that matter, anyone with red hair. And as delicate as her hobbies were, she could crack jokes and pour drinks with the best of them.
